Wisconsin fans, former players, media react to Badgers' blowout home loss to Iowa
![](/<p>The Wisconsin <a href="https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/ncaaf/teams/wisconsin-badgers/3442/" target="_blank">Badgers</a> hit yet another low on Saturday night, as they fell to the rival <a href="https://hawkeyeswire.usatoday.com/">Iowa Hawkeyes</a> 37-0. </p><p>Wisconsin is now 2-4 (0-3 Big Ten) through six games. Its current four-game losing streak, all to Power Four opponents, includes a point differential of 126-34 (an average score of 31.5-9). Dating back to last season, the team has now lost eight consecutive games to Power Four teams. Two of those have come against <a href="https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/ncaaf/teams/iowa-hawkeyes/3434/" target="_blank">Iowa</a>, arguably Wisconsin's closest peer program, by a combined margin of 79-10.</p><p>In summary, Wisconsin isn't just losing games to tough competition. It hasn't been remotely competitive against any Power Four team since last November.</p><p>Saturday's low, a humiliating home loss that saw Wisconsin shutout at home for the first time since 1980, appears more like a program low than just a forgettable moment in a season that is quickly becoming full of them. As the results become more and more lopsided, it becomes increasingly challenging to see the program move forward without significant changes.</p><p>Wisconsin fans, former players and media reacted as such. Notre Dame social media reacts to the referee’s in its game against NC State
![](/<p>I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m pretty impartial to what referees do, I just want them to be consistent, but <a href="https://sports.yahoo.com/article/notre-dame-hosts-north-carolina-180534152.html" data-3p-content-referrer="https://fightingirishwire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/fighting-irish/football/2025/10/11/notre-dame-football-live-updates-nc-state-north-carolina-wolfpack-highlights-score-analysis/86646845007/" data-original-link="https://fightingirishwire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/fighting-irish/football/2025/10/11/notre-dame-football-live-updates-nc-state-north-carolina-wolfpack-highlights-score-analysis/86646845007/">they weren’t as Notre Dame took on NC State</a>.</p><p>The two plays in question where a Wolfpack pass called a reception when the ball looked to hit the ground, and a no-catch on an Irish potential interception that was ruled incomplete. Neither call made sense, as it looked pretty clear that the referee’s miss-judged the calls. </p><p>Notre Dame social media wasn’t too happy about either of the calls, and they took their frustrations out on their keyboards. It wasn’t just the Irish fans calling out the refs, it was plenty of others that didn’t like what they saw. If one is a catch, then the other should be and vice versa.
