Kings forward Keegan Murray out for over a month with torn thumb ligament
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray will be sidelined for more than a month after injuring his left thumb in an exhibition game.
The Kings said Sunday that Murray has a torn ulnar collateral ligament of the left thumb after getting hurt in Friday night's game against Portland. The team said Murray will be reevaluated in four to six weeks.
Murray is entering his fourth season in the NBA. He averaged 12.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season for Sacramento.

![](/<p><a href="https://bearswire.usatoday.com">Chicago Bears</a> quarterback Caleb Williams had his fair share of individual success during his rookie season, but he unfortunately set a franchise record with 68 sacks taken by a quarterback. </p><p>In an effort to fix the sack issues, the <a href="https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/nfl/teams/chicago-bears/326" target="_blank">Bears</a> brought in an entire new coaching staff and overhauled the offensive line, and so far the results have been there, although sometimes there have been mixed outcomes. The biggest changes made to the Bears offensive line were trades to bring in veteran guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, as well as signing center Drew Dalman in free agency. </p><p>Earlier this week, ahead of the game against the Washington Commanders, Williams spoke about why he feels the sack rate has been down this season compared to last year. Giving all the credit to his offensive line and finding rhythm, Williams knows it's all been due to the changes the team made in the offense.</p><p>"It starts with those guys up front. Those guys up front have been awesome since I've been here this year," Williams said. "So, I think being able to get in rhythm with those guys, not having many guys down in a sense, being able to get multiple reps. I think I've said it multiple times from last year to now, it's being able to figure out where their weaknesses are, because every player has some weaknesses or anything like that. </p><p>"So being able to figure out where their weaknesses are and play off of that in the pocket and being able to feel that and know where I need to set up or rollout or get out the pocket at certain times. So, it's being able to have those guys’ back when things don't go right. But, these guys are beasts up front, so, it's been fun being with them and working with them and having these past four games with them."</p><p>Having been sacked seven times in the first four games may not be the trend that the offensive line is looking for, but four of those aforementioned sacks came in the blowout loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 2.
