New Zealand call-up 'long-time goal' for Stanger

Kilmarnock defender George Stanger has realised a "long-time goal" to be selected for an international team at senior level and says it will be "really special" to now earn a first cap. Darren Bazeley handed the 25-year-old, who has previously played at under-20 and under-23 level, his first call-up to the New Zealand squad for friendlies against Poland and Norway. Having been unused on the bench for Thursday's 1-0 defeat by Poland, Stanger is now hoping for a senior debut on Tuesday.
