Conkel's hat trick leads to 1st career RSC Offensive POW honors
![](/<p>OXFORD —Behind the maiden trio of goals in her Shawnee State career that resulted in the Minford native's first career hat trick, SSU freshman forward Lexi Conkel was named as the River States Conference's Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by conference officials on Monday afternoon.</p><p>Conkel, a prolific goal-scorer in high school who is the all-time leading female goal-scorer in Scioto County history with 147, scored the first three goals of her college career in rapid succession on Saturday—obtaining her first career hat trick in an 8-0 victory over Kentucky Christian.</p><p>Conkel scored in the 18th minute and twice within a 25-second span in the 20th minute to obtain her hat trick.</p><p>The freshman, who started in the contest, put up five shots and all of her attempts on frame in 45 minutes of action —before sitting the entire second half as SSU got additional players field time.</p><p>For more information on the Shawnee State University women's soccer program, please visit <a href="https://www.instagram.com/ssuwsoccer/">https://www.instagram.com/ssuwsoccer/</a>.</p>)
