Liverpool defender Frimpong out for a few weeks with hamstring injury
LIVERPOOL, England (AP) — Liverpool right back Jeremie Frimpong will be out with a hamstring injury until after the upcoming international break, manager Arne Slot said Thursday.
Frimpong was hurt in the 4-2 win over Bournemouth in the opening Premier League game on Friday, coming off in the 60th minute.
He will now miss the Premier League games against Newcastle on Monday and then Arsenal.
The Netherlands play Poland and Lithuania in World Cup qualifiers in early September.
Slot might be without a designated right back against Newcastle, with another option — Conor Bradley — having recently been injured. Long-time right back Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid during the offseason.

It had mixed reviews because it was a great insight into the team and what they were building, but it was also very "PG," which took away some of the authenticity.</p><p>This summer, the Buffalo Bills are the focal point. It isn't usual for Super Bowl contenders to be the featured team, but it's a nice change of pace.</p><p>The third episode, which aired Tuesday night, was spoiled by the <a href="https://sportsdata.usatoday.com/football/nfl/teams/chicago-bears/326" target="_blank">Bears</a> following their 38-0 thrashing of the Bills in the second preseason game Sunday night at Soldier Field.</p><p>The first two-thirds of the episode had practices and meetings that Buffalo went through leading up to the game, including last Friday's joint practice with Chicago. But it wasn't a fun affair for the Bills when they were dominated by the Bears on national television.</p><p>Yes, Chicago's starters began the game against the second-string Buffalo defenders, and Josh Allen didn't play. But the Bears were only up 7-0 by the time their starters exited. This time, it was a change of pace to see Caleb Williams, Ben Johnson, and the entire team made to look good on camera.</p><p>The only positive for Buffalo leaving Chicago is that the players were shown leaving Soldier Field with food from Lou Malnati's. Nobody can ever be that upset following a game that doesn't count if they can eat some Lou's pizza and salad. </p><p>For the Bears, it is nice to see them spoil the Bills' fun, but they need to keep this momentum going. They're now headed to play another team that has the cameras on them a lot in the Kansas City Chiefs.
